Meet Today's Featured Reader...ME!

OK, so there's this blog called Pop Candy that features one of their faithful readers everyday. I just thought I would hi-jack it and fill it out myself to give my readers a little idea of who I am. Enjoy!

Real name: Joya M.
Where I live: Detroit, MI
Occupation: Recent college graduate, writer
Blog: theinsomniaczone.blogspot.com

Three famous people I'd love to meet: T-Boz, David Blaine and Barack Obama. I used to be a hardcore TLC fan ever and T-Boz was always my favorite and most inspiring. I used to want to be a magician in my younger days so I think David Blaine is the coolest and Obama is about to do something that no one ever thought could be done.

One famous person I've actually met: Due to a friend being related to Richard Hamilton, I got a chance to meet him and kick it at his house. He's a very nice guy. Aaliyah came over to my house before.

Favorite movie: Clueless, Higher Learning, Sister Act 2, Mean Girls, Anchorman, Blow, Sarafina, Superstar, A Bronx Tale, ATL, X-Men trilogy, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Wicker Park, Running Scared, Cruel Intentions, The Wizard of Oz.

Favorite album: Lauryn Hill's The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. TLC's CrazySexyCool, Jay-Z's Blue Print and Destiny's Child's Writings' on the Wall come close as well.

Favorite TV show: The O.C. I can't get enough of Family Guy, The Simpsons, or Fresh Prince of Bel-Air either.

Favorite book: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah, Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. I read a lot so this list is actually very long, but I'll spare you.

Favorite website (aside from the Insomniac Zone): concreteloop.com and my favorite Bloggers from Detroit: http://brothersfourword.blogspot.com/, http://ultimatejuxtaposition.blogspot.com/, http://thisisoneten.blogspot.com/

My 15 minutes of fame: I won this writing contest at UofM for a few of my short stories. I was also an extra for that horribly bad movie, Crossover. I was in a scene where I was the last person leaving the nail shop and Eve told me goodbye. They gave me a costume and make up and everything! But the scene didn't make it until the final cut of the movie. Womp womp.

My earliest pop-culture memory: When I was really young, I used to watch Michael Jackson's Moonwalker movie everyday, which would often result in me dancing around the living room in my white under shirt, trying to look like MJ, lol.

Why did I start this blog: Because all of my rants, random thoughts, and hilariousness needed to be exposed to more that just the people who read my away messages on AIM.

Nice to officially meet you Joya. LOL.

I'm surprised that Cruel Intentions is one of your favorite movies, I don't know too many females that enjoyed it.

And I just CAN'T believe you placed The O.C. above Family Guy....or House, or Grey's Anatomy, or Fresh Prince, or...lol, I could go on.

And thanks for the shout out on the 'favorite websites.' I like how us Detroit bloggers are starting to come together, it's good for the community. LOL.

Keep it up Joya!!!! And BTW, you stole (see: beat me to it) my Jeezy track....lol, I'm still going to post it anyway!
